Carey was a fashion model. She stands almost 5'10" tall and was very popular among famous American fashion designers like Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and others. In 1979 the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists named her father Scientist of The Year. Carey went to all over the world in honor of her father's efforts. When she finished her studies at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, she started to do modeling as a side. The idea caught the attention of an agent at Ford Model Agency New York. In the year 1980, she emigrated to France and briefly lived in Paris as well as Bordeaux but returned to New York in order to continue an acting career. The model was featured on Vogue and Glamour pages. While modeling she also studied literature full time in New York University. In time, she began to become interested in acting, and began studying at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. The actress had a tiny part in Club Paradise with Robin Williams in 1986. Skiing, white water rafting and rock climbing are her favorite pursuits.
