Stevie WonderStevland Hardaway Morris (ne Judkins; May 13 1950), known professionally as Stevie Wonder, is an American singer-songwriter who is recognized as a pioneer and influence by musicians across a range of genres including blues and rhythm, pop soul, gospel jazz, and funk. Stevie Wonder's use of synthesizers and other electronic instruments made R&B a virtual one-man show. He was instrumental in bringing these genres into the age of albums through LPs that were both coherent and consistent. Wonder was blind at the time of his birth was signed at Motown's Tamla label when he was just 11. There he was given the name of a professional artist, Little Stevie Wonder. Wonder's famed critical success reached its peak in 1970s. His "classic" period began in 1972, with Music of My Mind and Talking Book. The latter featured "Superstition", the most well-known and famous example of the Hohner Clavinet keyboard sound. The Grammy Award for Album of the Years was awarded to Innervisions (1973) The Fulfillingness's First Finale (1974) and Songs in the Key of Life (1976). He is tied for third place with the highest number of albums with three Album of the YEAR wins. He is the sole artist to have won the award for Album of the Year on three consecutive albums. Wonder was a "commercial artist" when he began to make his biggest hits in the early 1980s. His popularity grew with increased albums sales, charity involvement, and notable collaborations.
