
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the top division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. Following her graduation early from the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was chosen as the number one overall pick in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. The team made her debut in professional football and assisted the team in winning the league title. Morgan was only 22 at the time, and was one of the youngest players on the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. She scored the match-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final match at the 2012 London Olympics. She was able to finish 2012 with 28 goals and 21 assists along with Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and give 20 assists in the same year, making her the sixth and the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year Morgan was also selected as a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan helped the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was selected to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
